The Cat Village on the East Rand is home to 1500 rescued cats who will live out their days protected by Irma Teller – Santa Cause for Paws is raising funds for the cat rescue.

Johannesburg, South Africa (06 July 2021) – Irma Teller gives her heart, soul and time to caring for 1500 cats. She runs the Cat Villiage on the East Rand which is a pro-life non-profit cat rescue charity.

Irma, a rescuer by heart, takes in cats and offers them long-term residence. She is surrounded by a group of volunteers who work to give the cats the best lives possible. The village is set in a beautiful garden giving the cats many natural spaces to relax and stretch out.

Irma and the volunteers make sure the cats have an enriching environment to live, stay healthy and well-fed. It is the job cat lovers dreams of.

Irma relies on donations and the support of volunteers to keep each kitty happy. She often shares photos of the residents in her care and how donations are used to support them.

Santa Cause for Paws, an animal welfare donation collection charity, selected the Cat Village as a recipient for their 2021 festive campaign. The organisation raises funds and collects donations for charities in need and then distributes them during the festive season or sooner if needed.

Santa Cause for Paws is running a virtual adopt a cat campaign featuring some of the Cat Village’s older residents. This is great for people who love cats but cannot own them.

“Your sponsorship will help an animal in my area receive a gift and a portion of the funds will also go to sterilising. R200 to sponsor and the volunteers at Santa Cause for Paws will shop and pack the perfect gift for a fellow animal like me. For now, these will go out over Christmas, unless the charities want them sooner – we will work with charities to see what they would like.” – Santa Cause for Paws

So if you would like to support these kitties, you can do so here. Take a look at some of the residents below. You can also follow the Cat Village here for some pawsome content.
