School Shoes

DJ Shimza raised money during his annual ‘One Man Show’ to buy school shoes for underprivileged kids. He raised so much money he was able to purchase 1500 pairs of school shoes

DJ Shimza is a local celebrity with a fantastic following. He hosts an annual ‘One Man Show’ during the festive season and uses it to raise money for causes close to his heart. His show has been running for over eight years and has just gone from strength to strength.

The fundraising from the 2017 show was so great that it enabled DJ Shimza to purchase 1500 pairs of school shoes for kids in need.

“It should never be just about you. I feel if we have the platform to make a difference in our communities and in other people’s lives we should try and do that,” – Ashley Raphala, aka DJ Shimza

His 2017 goal was to help 800 children, nearly double from what he had done the year before. The generous DJ went above and beyond that goal and changed the lives of so many more kids than he set out to.

He posted his joy on Instagram and has inspired so many people with his contribution. You can see all the kids receiving their new shoes too.
