One incredibly dedicated Bethelsdorp teacher has proven that a little paint and a lot of heart can transform a dull classroom into a vibrant, inspiring space that’s now earning her viral praise across South Africa.

Bethelsdorp, South Africa (05 November 2025) – One of the many things Good Things Guy will never grow tired of celebrating is good people, doing great things – the unsung heroes who spread kindness, show compassion, inspire hope, empower others and help wherever they can.

In this particular story, we celebrate Wisaal Abrahams, an English teacher at Bertram Secondary School, who is trending for all the right reasons!

Wisaal shared a short video on her social media, showing an initial clip of the classroom she was given to teach her pupils in before taking the initiative to transform it into a colourful and more inviting learning space.

The footage goes on to show a few friendly helpers stripping off the old boards on the walls around the class before applying a fresh coat of white paint. Once dry, Wisaal got to work, attaching colourful, educational posters all around the walls – breathing new life into the previously old and dull space.

“The classroom I was given vs The classroom I created,” the post caption read.

Her video, which has garnered over 212,000 views and over 6,500 likes on Facebook, has won the admiration of viewers who praise Wisaal as an amazing teacher who goes the extra mile in creating a welcoming environment for our future leaders.

“Thank you for making a difference,” one user commented.

Another viewer commended Wisaal’s initiative:

“If only more teachers were prepared to follow your example. Well done. A classroom in which teaching and learning can be enjoyed.”

As her video continues to spread joy, this remarkable high school teacher has given us all a powerful, colourful lesson: that investing in a child’s learning environment is an act of pure dedication that truly lights up a community.
