Reach For a Dream dedicated its mission to making dreams come true 35 years ago. A special book is honouring these life-changing decades with real-life stories brushed with dreams, art and why a single day counts.

South Africa (31 August 2023)—The Reach For A Dream Foundation embarked on a big mission 35 years ago—making children facing life-threatening illnesses dreams’ come true. No small quest and no simple circumstances, over three decades later, Reach For A Dream continues onward and upward, looking back on all the dream-come-true days that decorate the decades. Honouring this incredible milestone, a special book ‘The Dreamers’ is paying tribute to the dreams that did come true.

‘The Dreamers’ by artist and photographer Marc-Gregory is a vibrant visual collection of 35 dreamers and their resilient dreamers, including stories like little Bongi who got to experience a different day where life wasn’t focused on his kidney failure, but on his dream to serve his country.

Bongi got to spin around in a military vehicle at the Tempe base in Bloem and for that day, he wasn’t a sick young boy, but a brave soldier.

‘The Dreamers’ immortalises the power of dreams, and how a single day can and does make a difference in the trajectory of many lives where extremely trying circumstances don’t always allow a child to simply be a child. A single day can be the difference between hope and its lack—something RFAD works year-round to tilt to the latter.

Beyond being a big love letter to dreams, the book is also a way to pay the next Dream Day forward, as all proceeds from the book go to the Foundation.
