Thato Senganga Molosankwe wants women and children in South Africa to be safe, cared for and respected. He is walking to stand up for those in need.
There is a shift in South Africa, women are not the only ones fighting the system which sees women pushed aside when abused, raped and murdered. Men are making a stand, they are joining the conversation and calling out their fellows who feel entitled in South Africa.
One of these men is Thato Sengange Molosankwe. He has had enough of the untold stories and the ones that make headlines. He wants abuse to end. And so, he set off on a journey that would not only challenge himself, but challenge the opinions of men in South Africa and Africa as a whole.
Thato started walking from Cape Town on 18 July 2018 and is set to arrive in Bloemfontein on the 1st of September. His goal is to reach Cairo and hopefully inspire men from all walks of life along the way. The entire journey is going to take Thato 10 years to complete.
Along his walk, he stops at schools to educate the children about abuse. He also speaks to men he meets along the roadside and explains how devisating abuse is to our women and reasons with them about being the change.
His method of spreading his message is a good one, he is meeting people face to face and engaging with everyone he meets. Many may call him crazy along the way but he is such an inspiration for taking on such an important cause.
In the end, he hopes to raise R10-million in the next 10 years. You can support his charity here.
