Jason Holtzhausen and his friend Kelly started a personal campaign in 2018 to help shelters, orphanages and old aged homes have access to water in Cape Town.
The duo have been collecting water every second week in Joburg and driving it up to the Cape.
Jason and Kelly have been working hard to make a difference to those in need in Cape Town. The friends teamed up to help out the voiceless citizens of the Western Cape who will most definitely suffer when day zero kicks in.
We decided to give Jason a call and find out more about their project. Jason confirmed that this project will run as long as Cape Town is in crisis. He plans to not top until it rains down in Cape Town.
“We decided as a 2018 initiative, to become a part of something much bigger than us. I feel that many of us, including me, are driven by making our lives better without considering those less fortunate than us. Especially homes and shelters where they have no voice. We felt like we needed to be the voice of the voiceless and to help people realise that there is a much bigger problem than the “1st world issues” most of us complain about.”
“Kelly made such a profound statement that I 100% agree with: “It only takes one honest voice to be louder than a million dishonest ones.”
“The water we collect is part of a drive that helps over 1500 animal shelters, old age homes and orphanages. To us, they’re the defenceless ones, that need help the most!”
The pair has been incredibly successful and collects water at the Builder Warehouse in Fourways every second Sunday at 13:00 pm. To help Jason and Kelly out, you are welcome to contact Jason at via email.
