tyre rainfall flooding

A South African has taken to Facebook to thank an anonymous woman who helped a homeless person at an intersection during a massive thunderstorm.

Kaitlin Leisegang took to Facebook to thank a kind woman who climbed out of her car during a massive storm to help a beggar. She posted the original message of thanks to I Love Fourways which has had thousands of shares:

“To the kind woman in the red Hyundai at the intersection of Main and Witkoppen”

“I have just witnessed you climb out of your vehicle with your umbrella & cross a busy intersection to go help the beggar (with hardly any clothes on) back to your car to keep them sheltered from the storm. I saw you assist him as he leaned on your shoulder most of the journey back to the vehicle.”

“Thank you so much for showing so much light, love & kindness in an often too dim world.”

“You brought tears to my eyes.”

“You deserve recognition.”

The small act of kindness has inspired thousands who have also taken to social media platforms:

Anthea Smith posted: “And then a story like that restores our faith in humanity – to the angel in the red car, thank you.”

Viktoria Morreno added: “The best way to recognise her is to repeat the same kind gesture she did. Help another human in need….”

Phillipa Mitchell commented: “There are some seriously incredibly kind and selfless people out there. The world needs more people like her. We are all trying to find our way home in one way or another, and when someone reaches out a hand to lift us up, or offers us a shoulder to lean on, or somewhere to ride out the storm, it makes facing tomorrow that little bit easier.”

And with the help of social media, the post found it’s way to the kind woman who responded with a reminder to all of us… to be a little kinder.

Kirsty Bosman posted: “I am the lady in the red car. My heart is so warmed by all your comments! I have just been told about this post. I could not bare to drive past a man shivering in the pouring rain while I went home to a nice warm house with food on the table. Thank you for all the blessings and kind words!”

“I didn’t expect anyone to notice but didn’t need them to either.”

“I hope we can all try harder to help the homeless. I am truly blessed with everything I have and would love to share it and help more. Thank you thank you thank you!”
