The Springbok Women proved to be a force to be reckoned with at this year’s Rugby World Cup, earning the admiration of none other than former Miss SA, Zozibini Tunzi. She not only praised the team’s performance but even admitted to becoming one of their biggest fans!

South Africa (18 September 2025) – Our women in green and gold showed up at the Rugby World Cup in England and made us proud. They may have bowed out at the quarter finals, but it was not without a strong fight against the multiple titleholders, New Zealand.

Giving the Springbok Women their flowers was none other than SA’s 2019 Miss Universe, Zozibini Tunzi, who, in a post, shared that their journey has been nothing short of inspirational.

“We are forever and always in the spirit. Yesterday [Saturday, 13 September] was a heartbreaking loss for the Springboks Women’s team and a heartbreak for South Africa as well, But in the same breath, I want to say how proud I am of our women’s rugby team. They came into the World Cup as underdogs, and with every game they played, they just kept on rising to the occasion,” the beauty queen said.

Zozibini admitted that this was her first time being fully immersed in the women’s rugby team, watching their games and rallying behind them – an experience that has left her truly moved and inspired.

She further encouraged more South Africans, as a true rugby nation, to show up and extend support to this incredibly talented team because we have it in us, and they deserve it.

“This was my first time, but it was the beginning of forever. I don’t see why we can’t just show up for them consistently at every game that they play because they deserve all our support.

“I have joy in my heart for being able to have witnessed this,” she said in anticipation of attending the next Bok Women game.

We couldn’t agree more with our dear Zozi and join her in celebrating this powerhouse of a team that not only defied odds and doubts but truly soared, proving a force to be reckoned with. Go Bokke!
