Small purchases can make a world of difference. By adding a participating Elizabeth Anne’s product to your cart, you can directly help wrap a newborn in clean clothing, reassure a vulnerable mother that she is not alone, or bring loving care to someone living with a disability.
South Africa (20 October 2026) – For a new mother arriving at hospital with little more than worry, a bag filled with nappies, clothing and other baby essentials can feel like a lifeline. For a family trying to keep a newborn warm and dry in an overcrowded home, practical help can restore safety and hope. And for a resident who depends on round-the-clock care, everyday necessities provide comfort, dignity and even joy.
These are the people at the heart of Elizabeth Anne’s Give Love campaign. Through the campaign, participating product purchases are turned into financial and practical support for three South African charities: Bless a Baby, Baby Line and Avril Elizabeth Home.
Each purchase contributes 10c. On its own, that may seem small. But when thousands of people take part, those cents add up and will help charities meet real, urgent needs and remind vulnerable mothers, babies and residents that they are not alone.
A Bag Filled with Hope and Dignity
Many mothers arrive at Cape Town hospitals and clinics with nothing prepared for their baby’s arrival and no support network to lean on. In that uncertain moment, a Bless a Baby bag offers far more than practical supplies.
“From crisis to comfort, this small package represents more than just baby essentials. It’s a symbol of love, hope and dignity,” the organisation says. “They may have faced months of hardship, often with no support network and no means to prepare for their baby’s arrival.”
Every month, the volunteer-run charity distributes 339 baby bags across 12 public healthcare facilities in Cape Town. Filled with essentials such as clothing and nappies, each bag gives a mother and newborn some of the basics they need to begin their new chapter with greater comfort and confidence.
“The majority of Bless a Baby’s resources go directly towards the essential items included in the bags we distribute to mothers and babies in need,” the organisation explains.
Support from the Give Love campaign helps Bless a Baby meet this ongoing demand, complete more bags and strengthen the organisation so that it can continue serving families in the months ahead.
Walking Alongside Mothers in Crisis
In September alone, Baby Line counselled 83 mothers facing difficult circumstances. Behind every number is a woman with her own story, trying to navigate one of the hardest moments of her life.
One mother supported by Baby Line lives with her family of eight in a single room containing two double beds. She recently welcomed a newborn while raising five children without support from their fathers.
“She continues to work hard every day to provide for them and make things work with what she has,” a Baby Line team member says.
“When I first got to know her, I realised just how difficult her living conditions were. Her roof had holes and leaked when it rained, and her window frames had no proper glass.”
Her newborn was becoming ill, and something as basic as having a safe, dry place to sleep had become a challenge. Baby Line helped repair parts of the home, making it a little safer for the mother and her children.
“We cannot fix every challenge a family faces overnight, but we can make their circumstances a little easier and remind them that they are not alone.”
Alongside counselling, Baby Line visits hospitals and provides care packs containing essentials for mothers and babies. A pack of nappies, a baby outfit or another basic necessity can ease immediate pressure and help a mother find her feet during those first days.
Support for Give Love will enable Baby Line to visit larger hospitals, reach more mothers and prepare more care packs. As the charity puts it, “Sometimes the smallest things can have the biggest impact.”

A Home of Care and Comfort
Nicholas, affectionately known as Nicky, has lived at Avril Elizabeth Home in Germiston for more than 30 years. It is the only home he has ever known.
Nicky relies on the Home’s team for every part of his daily care, from brushing his teeth and washing his hair to eating, dressing, bathing and moving around in his wheelchair. The care he receives gives him comfort, security and the freedom to express the joy for which he is known.
“His happiness is easy to hear: the passages fill with his unique giggle,” the Home shares.
“Your donations enable us to keep providing happiness, love and unwavering care. We are forever grateful.”
Nicky is one of 155 children and adults with intellectual disabilities cared for by Avril Elizabeth Home. Many residents also have physical disabilities and need full-time support. The Home’s most urgent needs are the essentials of daily care: food, toiletries, nappies and the staff who provide care 24 hours a day.
Those needs are constant. Together, the residents use 69 boxes of nappies every month. Every contribution helps the Home keep its nursing, care and therapy programmes running:
- R70 provides toiletries for one resident for a month.
- R1,000 covers a month of supplements and stimulation for a resident.
- R12,000 buys a specialised wheelchair.
“When thousands of people give a little, we can plan beyond next month’s supplies,” the Home says. That could mean improving stimulation facilities or upgrading residential areas, while continuing to provide warmth, dignity and dependable care each day.
When Small Acts Become Something Bigger
This is what an everyday purchase can help make possible: a newborn wrapped in clean clothing, a mother reassured that she is not alone, or a resident like Nicky enjoying a warm meal, a comfortable bed and devoted care.
Buying a participating Elizabeth Anne’s, Milton, or Karvol product may feel like a small act. Through Give Love, however, thousands of those choices become collective support that charities can rely on to meet immediate needs and plan for the future.
You may never meet the mother who receives a care pack, see the baby wearing the outfit you helped provide or hear Nicky’s giggle in the passages of his home. But your contribution is no less meaningful.
You do not have to do something extraordinary to make an extraordinary difference. When we buy with care, we give love where it matters most – and our small acts of kindness become something far greater than any one of us could achieve alone!
