The former Mr South Africa and Mr Universe representative is now competing at Mr Supranational, and South Africans are being encouraged to get behind him.

Cape Town, South Africa (15 July 2026) – After winning the Mr South Africa 2024 title and representing the country at Mr Universe 2025, Marcel Roux is now flying the South African flag once again, this time at the Mr Supranational competition.

In his official introduction video, Marcel gives viewers a glimpse into the man behind the sash. The 28-year-old from Kuils River in the Western Cape speaks about his life as a husband, father, rugby player and youth leader, while proudly sharing what makes South Africa so special.

He also reveals that entering Mr South Africa wasn’t even his idea. His wife submitted his application, a decision that ended up changing his life.

That experience taught him the power of someone believing in you, and it’s a lesson he hopes to pass on as he inspires the next generation.

The Brackenfell Rugby Club player also pays tribute to his father, who taught him to persevere through every challenge, and says his greatest passion is becoming a positive role model for young people.

When asked to describe South Africa, Marcel says it’s the people who make the country unforgettable.

He celebrates South Africans for their warmth, diversity, resilience and unmistakable sense of humour, saying it’s something he can’t wait to showcase on the international stage.

Now, South Africans have another chance to rally behind one of their own.

Supporters can boost Roux’s campaign by liking and commenting on his official Mr Supranational YouTube video and subscribing to the competition’s YouTube channel through his video.
