Brad Binder set a new speed record at the Italian MotoGP this weekend, earned 5th place in the race and currently stands at 4th for the 2023 World Championship!
Mugello, Italy (12 June 2023) – Brad Binder had a good weekend in Italy, riding into 5th by the end of the Italian MotoGP. As of this weekend, he is currently ranked 4th on the 2023 MotoGP World Championship standings.
The 27-year-old South African scored KTM’s maiden MotoGP victory in the Czech Republic in 2020 and was KTM’s highest-ranked rider in 2022 with 6th position in the standings and podium results at both the opening Grand Prix of the year (Qatar) and the closer (Valencia).
Now nine seasons in the Red Bull KTM family, Binder is recognised as one of the most determined and efficient racers on the MotoGP grid.
While the proudly South African rider didn’t earn a spot on the podium this weekend, he smashed the top speed record!
“In the past three years, we have witnessed the fastest speeds ever recorded on MotoGP™ machines. During the 2023 Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley MotoGP™ pushed the limits even further as Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) smashed the top speed record with an astonishing 366.1 km/h” – MotoGP
Brad has already improved on his 2022 Championship standing. If he keeps racing as brilliantly as he is, he can definitely make this his best season yet!
