Kirsten Landman is about to take part in one of her favourite races on the Hard Enduro calendar; Sea to Sky is being hosted in Kemer, Turkey and she is ready for the challenge!
Kemer, Turkey (16 October 2023) – With a win at Red Bull Tennessee Knock Out and an American Championship win under her belt, Kirsten Landman is in Kemer, Turkey for her penultimate race of the international hard enduro season, Sea to Sky. The picturesque but gruelling race sees riders traverse beach, forest, and mountain terrain from 18-21 October 2023.
Landman has had to endure a few setbacks this year after suffering a pulmonary embolism after her finish at the Dakar Rally in January and injuring her shoulder in treacherous conditions at Red Bull Romaniacs in July.
“I’m feeling much stronger than I was going into racing Tennessee. I’ve put in some good time on my KTM motorbike and my bicycle. I have also been doing strength work to ensure I’ve done everything I can in preparation for the last few races of the season. I’m feeling strong mentally, and more confident because my physical fitness is in a good place.”
“It’s an incredibly tough race and Day 4, the mountain race, is by far the toughest part. You’re racing the clock to get to the top of the mountain – you have to go as hard as you can for 60km in 6 hours. Sea to Sky epitomises why I race hard enduro. I love coming back – this is my seventh time at this race. The organisers and the competitors are all family now.”
Once Landman has completed the race in Turkey, she’ll finish her season at Roof of Africa in Lesotho.
“It’s quite cool to have both races close to each other as it’ll help my fitness after four days of the technical landscape at Sea to Sky. I aim to stay injury-free and healthy so I can end the year and the season off at Roof of Africa on a high.”
