It was a confident display in what is an important build-up to the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup in India and Sri Lanka next month
Proteas captain Laura Wolvaardt praised her teammates for stepping up with both bat and ball:
“We were happy restricting them to 255, at one stage we thought they would score 280-300, but I think we had a really good death bowling spell. They were absolutely amazing, Taz and Kappie were phenomenal with the bat and we could have watched them all day, it was amazing.”
South Africa will meet Pakistan again on Friday and Monday before turning their focus to a series of World Cup warm-up matches against England, Bangladesh, India, and Australia.
For now, the Proteas can celebrate a strong start and a strong form that set the tone for what could be a memorable campaign.
