School rugby just got a major boost with the launch of the King Price Derby Series, which sees the best young rugby talents go head-to-head.

 

South Africa (17 March 2025) – Over the weekend, the King Price Derby Series kicked off to an excited crowd and selection of talented young rugby players. The new series gives school rugby a transformative platform, expanding the reach of the most titanic schoolboy rugby battles to millions of homes and mobile phones nationwide.

Launched by Provantage Sports, the series is set to change the face of school rugby and catapult talented young players to new heights. There is a total of 55 fixtures in 2025, running from the 15th of March to the 30th of August 2025.

Viewers who are not on the sidelines will get to watch some of the best interschool clashes from the comfort of their homes or while on the go. Exciting fixtures to look forward to include Paarl Gimnasium against Paarl Boys’ High School, Durban High School vs Maritzburg College, Oakdale vs Boland Landbou, King Edward VII School against Jeppe High School for Boys, or Rondebosch Boys’ High School vs Bishops, to name a few.

These games are always historic, and the days of “you had to be there to see it” are gone! Rugby fans can tune into SuperSport 216 to watch the best of the best in school rugby. With the Springboks raising the profile of rugby in South Africa to a whole new level, watching the players rise from the school field to provincial teams and onto the national team starts here!
