As if competing in the national MSA4 single-seater series, regional Rotax DD2 karting, and the national Rok OK-N class wasn’t cool enough, Hannah Lee Daniel is also determined to pave a path for women in the epic sport.

Hillcrest, South Africa (08 May 2025) – The world of South African motorsports better brace itself for Hannah Lee Daniel, who is progressively proving her focus and fearlessness in the categories of MSA4 single-seaters, Rotax DD2, and Rok OK-N.

Her “need for speed” was born from bonding sessions with her dad while watching races on TV and trying herself out at karting during trips to the mall. It was this thrill that would see Hannah participating in racing events that are now landing her on the podiums.

At just 17 years old, she is building quite a name for herself in the predominantly male sport – something she hopes to change drastically in the future.

According to Motorsport South Africa, Hannah is carving a path with a purpose.

“When I feel like I’m losing it, I just sit quietly and remember why I’m doing this,” she says.

“I want to make a path for women in motorsport.”

She draws her inspiration from British racing driver Jamie Chadwick, who has repeatedly shown that women can thrive at the highest levels of motorsport.

Hannah’s advice to aspiring racers is to stay in one’s lane and avoid comparison.

“Take time to learn and focus on what you are doing,” she adds.

We’re cheering on this rising champion with every lap and are inspired by her drive to help others break into the exhilarating sport.
