Top beach volleyball stars from around the world set to bring excitement to Camps Bay, uniting communities and celebrating South African talent.
Cape Town, South Africa (07 October 2025) – The beautiful sands of Camps Bay Beach will be transformed into a vibrant sporting arena where world-class athleticism meets the energy of summer. The world’s top beach volleyball players are set to make waves in Cape Town later this month when the Beach Pro Tour touches down in South Africa for the very first time. From 22 to 26 October 2025.
With Table Mountain as a backdrop and the Atlantic Ocean just a few steps away, the tournament promises both thrilling competition and a true celebration of beach culture. Nearly 100 athletes representing 48 countries will battle it out over five days, as locals and tourists gather for what is set to be one of Cape Town’s biggest sporting highlights of the year.
The Beach Pro Tour, run by Volleyball World is recognised as the leading global circuit in professional beach volleyball. It’s an achievement few athletes ever reach, with only the World Championships and the Olympic Games ranked higher.
Adding to the excitement, South Africa’s own beach volleyball stars are gearing up to take on the world. Some of the country’s top teams have already impressed on the sand and will now compete in the Qualifier Tournament taking place from 16-17 October, where they will battle for a place in the Beach ProTour Main Event.
Volleyball SA President Anthony Makoena emphasised why Camps Bay is the perfect place for this global showpiece
“Camps Bay is one of the most spectacular locations in the world to host a tournament of this calibre, and we look forward to welcoming fans, athletes, and partners to an unforgettable week of beach sport and culture.”
The event also offers a major boost for local tourism and international visibility, as matches will be broadcast locally and globally to millions of viewers. Volleyball continues to enjoy a massive following worldwide, with a global audience of 480 million and was the most-watched sport during the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Beyond the high-level competition, the Beach ProTour in Cape Town is about uniting communities, celebrating South African talent, and inspiring the next generation to push their limits and dream bigger. With the breathtaking surroundings of Camps Bay, it’s set to be a vibrant celebration of sport, energy, and connection.
