Living with CMT disease has not stopped Taylor Hill from making her mark and showing what is possible in motorsport.
Johannesburg, South Africa (29 August 2025) – As Women’s Month wraps up, the Southern African Endurance Series (SAES) is putting the spotlight on Taylor Hill, an 18-year-old motorsport official whose passion and perseverance are challenging expectations in the racing world.
Despite living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease, which affects her movement, Taylor has not let her condition hold her back. She has become a vital presence at SAES events, ensuring every race runs seamlessly. Her dedication behind the scenes demonstrates that motorsport goes beyond entertainment and just speed.
Taylor’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. In 2024, she received a Special Award at the Motorsport South Africa (MSA) National Awards, recognising her inspiring contributions and growing influence in the motorsport community.
“Taylor Hill represents the very best of what Women’s Month stands for, strength, courage, and the power to transform spaces. Her role in SAES reminds us that motorsport thrives not only because of those on the track, but also because of the heroes working tirelessly behind the scenes. We are proud to celebrate her story as part of our journey to make motorsport more inclusive and empowering for all,” says SAES Acting CEO Liyema Letlaka.
Looking ahead to the upcoming SAES race at Zwartkops on 11 October, Taylor continues to serve as a role model for young women and girls across South Africa. Her journey proves that a love for motorsport can flourish in many forms. Whether in leadership, support, or on the track itself.
Taylor Hill’s story is a powerful reminder that determination and passion can break barriers. She is showing the next generation that, with hard work and commitment, motorsport can be an inclusive arena where anyone can make an impact.
