Waves for Change is inviting keen cyclists to become “Fundracing Champions” at the 2025 Cape Town Cycle Tour. By grabbing one of the 15 charity spots available, you’ll be helping these amazing folks raise R600,000 to support the surf therapy programmes that help many trauma-exposed children heal and thrive.

Cape Town, South Africa (09 January 2025) – Waves for Change (W4C) is making the most of the New Year by setting a high goal for a great purpose!

With the 2025 Cape Town Cycle Tour scheduled to take place in March, the charity is calling on cyclists to pedal for a purpose and become ‘Fundracing’ Champions’ in support of the amazing work they do to enrich children’s lives.

W4C has 15 charity tickets available for riders up for a challenge and passionate about making a difference.

“Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just starting out, this ride isn’t about being a pro—it’s about raising funds to provide safe spaces, support, and resources for children repeatedly exposed to trauma, helping to reduce the long-term impact on their mental health and future,” the W4C said.

By participating in the cycling race on behalf of W4C, you’ll not only be racing for impact but also supporting its goal of raising R600,000 to give more children access to surf therapy.

According to the organisation, surf therapy gives children a safe space of support, connection, and healing. It is an evidence-based mental health programme designed to help children develop adaptive skills to cope with stress caused by repeated exposure to violence and adversity.

If you’re keen to get on your bike and help many young people ride the wave and thrive, email info@waves-for-change.org or visit the W4C Facebook page for more information.
