A young dancer made her moves to the World Championships yet again to represent South Africa on the global stage once more!

Global, South Africa (02 July 2024) — South African dancers from all over the country and across disciplines have made headlines for the most inspiring reasons recently. While ballerina Zeinhab Kone from Johannesburg secured a beautifully bright future for herself thanks to tireless work and a scholarship to a prestigious dance school in the States, a Cape Town dance crew scooped silver at the World Dance Masters for their collective talents and a young dancer earned her chance to represent South Africa yet again on the international stage for freestyle and slow dance.

Said young dancer, Chloé Lahoud is no stranger to the Freestyle World Championships. Last year, it was after this prestigious competition that she earned her dancing stripes—her Protea Colours (which she has received for a second year).

She’s also something of a disco-dancing queen if her first place at the 2023 SADTA South African Freestyle and Disco Championships are anything to go by.

To no one’s surprise, Chloé qualified to represent South Africa once again at the 2024 run of the Worlds in England’s Blackpool, making it her third time qualifying for the elite spotlight.

After extensive fundraising efforts from her studio, family and trainer Craig Riviere, the time for the young dancer to shine once again soon came around as late June did.

Her school, Hoërskool Dinamika and her larger dancing community couldn’t be more proud of her impressive track record, and the rest of her country eagerly await to see how far her moves with take her.
