As the 2025 Northern Regions Rotax Karting Championship draws to a close, the spotlight falls on a group of young racers who spent the season learning and proving that the future of South African motorsport is in good hands.
Centurion, South Africa (16 October 2025) – It has been a season packed with speed and standout performances! Now, as the curtain prepares to close on the 2025 Northern Regions Rotax Karting Championship, all eyes turn to Zwartkops Kart Raceway this Saturday for one last showdown.
The Toyota Gazoo Racing Junior Academy (TGRJA) is ready to close out another exciting chapter in its mission to develop South Africa and Namibia’s next generation of motorsport talent.
This year’s championship has been one of growth. Namibian twins Nande and Mandume Kaiyamo wrap up their debut Mini MAX season under the TGRJA banner. The title may be out of reach, both have made major strides. Nande showing consistent pace and Mandume bouncing back from early setbacks.
In Junior MAX, it’s all to play for. Tshepang Shisinwana remains firmly in the title fight, just 14 points off the lead. His pace and composure have made him one of the standout young drivers of the year. His teammate Emma-Rose Dowling, who missed a few rounds due to international racing commitments, is determined to finish strong and carry that form into her European campaign.
In the Senior MAX, Kent Swartz heads to Zwartkops with one goal. Sealing the regional championship after a season marked by consistency and wins. Teammate Georgia Lenaerts has been equally impressive, eyeing a top three finish to round off what has been her most confident season yet.

Reflecting on the year, TGRJA Team Principal Leeroy Poulter said:
“The Northern Regions Rotax Kart Championship is without a doubt the most competitive regional series in South Africa. It’s usually just short of a national field every weekend, making it an excellent proving ground for young drivers. For us at TGRJA, this championship plays a crucial role in identifying and developing future champions. The progress our drivers have shown, both on and off the track, highlights the success of the academy’s structured approach.”
As the final round gets underway with qualifying and three race heats, the focus is to finish strong, celebrate progress, and keep building toward bigger stages ahead.
