The Springbok Women have once again proven their dominance on the continent, outclassing Madagascar 61-17 to be crowned champions of the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup.
Antananarivo, Madagascar (16 June 2025) – What a game. What a team. What a finish. The Springbok Women have done it again, not just winning, but absolutely owning the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup with a powerful 61-17 victory over hosts Madagascar.
That’s three out of three wins, and with it, the title of African Champions firmly in hand… again!
And let’s just say, they didn’t tiptoe to the trophy, they danced, sprinted, scrummed and soared their way to it with nine phenomenal tries, showing off a blend of hard-hitting skill, flair and a whole lot of heart.
From the very first few minutes, it was clear South Africa meant business. Faith Tshauke opened the scoring and set the tone. Soon after, Patience Mokone and Aphiwe Ngwevu were tearing through defenders like it was nothing, each grabbing two tries of their own. Byrhandré Dolf added her magic to the mix with two sensational scores, and flyhalf Mary Zulu was simply phenomenal with her conversions. While Madagascar had moments of brilliance and their fans created a buzzing atmosphere, it was South Africa’s day. The Bok Women played with purpose, reminding us why they’re such an unstoppable force on the continent.
With the Rugby World Cup in England on the horizon, this wasn’t just a win, it was a statement. South Africa’s women are not just contenders… they’re champions. And they’re coming.
