What do you get when you throw Barry Hilton, a flat bicycle tyre and a stranger driving a taxi together? A story of kindness, reminding us all that the people of South Africa are what makes this country so beautiful.
Garden Route, South Africa (05 April 2023) – Barry Hilton shared a story of kindness, reminding us all that South Africa has “great people and we should celebrate that”.
Hilton is a talented South African comedian, actor, and entertainer. He is known for his stand-up comedy performances and has been a prominent figure in the South African entertainment industry for several decades. Often referred to as “The Cousin”, Hilton is known for his unique sense of humour, observational comedy, and ability to connect with audiences of all backgrounds.
Oh, and he’s a good friend to Good Things Guy!
The comedian posted his story to his Facebook page yesterday, which is quickly going viral. Our favourite Cousin was cycling along the Garden Route when he got a flat tyre. The first person to stop was a taxi driver, who offered him a lift to the bike shop.
“So I cycled from Plett to Knysna this morning. Got a flat 2kms from town.
A guy in a taxi stopped, helped me put the bike in the back, and drove me to the bike shop. When I offered him some petrol money, he told me kindness doesn’t charge.
We should stop worrying about bad people and embrace the good. South Africa has great people. Let’s celebrate that.”
What a beautiful story and incredibly powerful words! Kindness doesn’t charge… and hearts that beat to the tune of kindness can change the rhythm of the world.
