The Dance World Cup sees dancers from around the world representing their nations in rhythm. No small beat, team South Africa is bringing all the groove to Portugal!
Braga, Portugal (05 July, 2023) — Representing nations in rhythm and movement, the Dance World Cup is no small beat. For many young dancers, the chance to move under the global spotlight is synonymous with opportunity, and marks a centre-stage kind of milestone.
South Africa is part of 50 countries putting their best moves forward for this year’s host—Portugal. With the competition set to end on 8 July, many proud moments have already been celebrated, making the hours of practice (and hairspray) worth it.
For one dance school Nü Dance, plenty of golden moments have been handed out for various fixtures. Golden Envelopes (for those of us who aren’t in the dance world’s loop) mean top 10 placements, doing away with regular podium medals until the Grand Final and Country Award Points events.
Inside the golden envelopes are a dancer’s chocolate-factory prize—an invite to attend a dancing Masterclass in the UK to learn from the best of the best.
Nü Dance named and famed their Golden Envelope winners who won their moments for an array of dance styles, including Angelina Fulford (12) and Kaelyn Taljaard (10) who made it to the Grand Finals.
While the dance world eagerly waits for the full results come 8 July, we’re already proud of everyone who bravely made their groove global.
