When Ed Sheeran found out that a childhood friend of his wasn’t able to come up with her mortgage payment, he invited her to write with him on his album.
Seriously, can our favorite gingerbread man get any sweeter?
Sheeran wrote “Thinking Out Loud” with his pal Amy Wadge, and after the song went triple platinum, it’s needless to say, money wasn’t a problem after that. The revenue from the song that has been streamed more than a half billion times on Spotify, has been more than enough to take care of her mortgage.
Ed explained to The Mirror: “She was going through financial troubles about a year ago. She drove to my house – my album was nearly done – and she asked if I could put a song from when I was 17 on the deluxe album, so she could get a little bit of money and pay the mortgage and bills and stuff.”
“While she was there, we wrote Thinking Out Loud. Now she never has to worry about money again” said Sheeran.
The pop singer known for his spontaneous good deeds just won over our hearts again with this one.
Like remember that time he accepted this terminally-ill fan’s marriage proposal?
Or the time he surprised this girl singing “Thinking Out Loud” in the mall with a little duet?
Yeah, he’s just that type of guy.
And this time, his good deed returned to him a million-fold—well actually 788 million-fold if you count his YouTube views on the year’s most entrancing tune…
