This week, The Good Stuff introduce you to Vastfontein Community Transformation Centre. Vastfontein raise, educate and equip the next generation of leaders so that we can transform South Africa together.
Once you have watched the video, the public will begin to understand our excitement.
Vastfontein Community Transformation is a non-profit company that focuses on the development and social upliftment of its surrounding communities. They are situated about 40km north of Pretoria near Hammanskraal and Soshanguve.
Vastfontein’s journey started as a small concern in June 1998 managed by individuals but has since grown into a fully-fledged Section 21 company (2003). This company includes a pre-primary, primary and high school as well as a child care village, clinic and a residential adult Training Centre
“Vastfontein is one of the most impressive projects we have ever seen. The level of organisation and sustainable efficiency is something to be remodelled around the country. Huddle Up want to be able to remodel this project throughout South Africa, simply because it is sustainable and imperative as a nation.”
With 32 kids schooled in 2005 and 345 in 2014, this shows a 978% growth in 10 years. In saying that, possibly by 2020 we could educate 500 kids which will be a 45% increase on today’s numbers in the next 4 years.
Vastfontein also focus on micro-farming initiatives in order to empower people to grow their own food with a powerful longevity strategy in place.
The children of Vastfontein have an opportunity, for the first time in their lives, to go and visit the ocean. This trip is taking place from 3 to 10 January 2016 in Pennington KZN. They are urgently looking for a sponsor or a financial contribution towards bus transport to take the kids and care givers to KZN as well as to provide transport while there.
They also require funds to pay for some of the other expenses of their trip. Please let us know if anyone is able to contribute in making the children’s dream come true.
“The Good Stuff is a great platform for Huddle Up to introduce you, inform you and update you on amazing initiatives across South Africa, as well as bring attention to projects that need public support.”
“We look forward to creating awareness and spreading the love on the great initiatives that are transforming communities. Let’s Huddle Up and be the change.”
