South Africa has earned several titles of World Best at the 2020 World Travel Awards including leading destination and leading tourist destination.

 

South Africa (16 November 2020) – South Africa has won 23 awards at the annual World Travel Awards. The awards are split up by continent so South Africa competes for the leading titles in Africa.

The World Travel Awards have been running since 1994 and have featured the worlds best travel destinations and more. Every year, the World Travel Awards celebrates the very best across the tourism and hospitality industries. The Awards serves to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors.

Initially postponed earlier this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2020 Awards will recently took place in Antalya, Turkey.

  2. Africa’s Leading Beach Destination – Plettenberg Bay.
  3. Africa’s Leading Boutique Hotel – Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa.

  5. Africa’s Leading City Destination – Durban.
  6. Africa’s Leading Conservation Company – Singita.
  7. Africa’s Leading Design Hotel – MannaBay, South Africa.
  8. Africa’s Leading Festival & Event Destination – Cape Town.
  9. Africa’s Leading Game Reserve Brand – Singita.
  10. Africa’s Leading Hotel Suite – Nelson Mandela Platinum Suite @ Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa, South Africa.
  11. Africa’s Leading Luxury Hotel Villa – Villa Two @ Ellerman House, South Africa.
  12. Africa’s Leading Luxury Lodge – Silvan Safari.

  15. Africa’s Leading New Hotel – The Houghton Hotel.
