South Africa’s Singita has earned a place on the first-ever “World’s 50 Best Hotels” list thanks to the beauty of the Singita Lebombo & Sweni Lodges.

South Africa (20 September 2023) – Singita Kruger National Park (comprising Singita Lebombo & Sweni Lodges) has been named No.15 in the new global ranking of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2023. Singita was one of three hotels from Africa ranked in the top 50, and the only property from South Africa.

The hotel list has been compiled for the first time and is filled with the very best that the world has to offer. The list was announced at a captivating awards ceremony in London and included industry-defining hotels from 35 different locations across six continents worldwide. This long-awaited list is 50 Best’s first foray into the travel space, and its first new global ranking since the launch of The World’s 50 Best Bars in 2009.

Not only has this local gem landed on the best hotels list, but Singita Kruger National Park also received the Flor de Caña Eco Hotel Award for outstanding efforts towards sustainability at the ceremony.

“This is a proud moment for Singita, and we feel honoured to be recognised in this way, especially as we celebrate our 30th anniversary. I feel immense gratitude for our lodge teams at Singita Kruger National Park and all the talented people who work hard every day to bring the magic of the Singita experience to life for our guests. This is for them,” says Jo Bailes, Singita CEO.

Singita is a conservation and ecotourism brand that has been helping to preserve Africa’s wildlife and wilderness for the past 30 years, offering guests exceptional safari experiences at 16 luxury, award-winning lodges, and camps across four countries. In partnership with non-profit funds and trusts that implement strategic conservation projects in each region, Singita’s 100-year purpose is to preserve and protect large parts of African wilderness for future generations.

This effort has proven to pay off with this incredible accomplishment.
