South Africans search for young man who got dissed on Valentine's Day

After the KFC proposal went viral, Facebook users felt they could do the same to mend a broken heart after a Valentine’s Day diss.

South Africa (19 February 2020) – On the 14th of February 2020, Valentine’s Day, a young man, armed with flowers, walked into the building where his girlfriend works to surprise her. When he arrived, he was told she had not come into work. This left him puzzled as she had left for work that morning.

He called her and asked where she was; the girlfriend confirmed she was at work. He told the manager she said she was at work. However, she was nowhere to be found. The young man left feeling deflated and heartbroken.

As he walked away, someone who had been witness to the entire ordeal snapped a picture. It was shared on Facebook where he was ridiculed and assumptions about every aspect of his life were made. The people commenting on the original post were brutal and made a heartbreaking situation even worse!

That is until Warren Mac Gregor saw the post and changed the entire narrative. He shared the post on his wall, asking for the young man to reach out. He has offered to buy the man a drink and to sit down and talk through the situation.

“I saw this the other day and honestly felt for the young man. I want to find him, I want to go for drinks with him, I want to help him find a woman who will appreciate the effort a man like this will put into loving her. We put out the KFC proposal on social media and every company jumped on the feel-good factor, why don’t they do it for the heartbroken? Is it just me that thinks the same should be done here?”

Since Warren shared his post, many have come forward to help the young man, from offering to set him up with a woman who would appreciate his efforts to donating gift vouchers. People are doing everything to find the young man in the photo.
