Blending food and music, this playlist-powered restaurant concept sparks the question: if your Spotify was the chef, what would end up on your plate?

Cape Town, South Africa (10 September 2025) – Imagine walking into a restaurant and the chef tells you: “Tonight’s menu was inspired by our Spotify playlist.” That is exactly what’s happening at The Wiggle Room, a new 12-seat dining experience dreamed up by Chef Ishmael and Lester.

Here is the concept, every 2–3 days, the menu changes completely, depending on what is playing through their speakers. One night it might be prawn toast plated prettier than an album cover, the next it’s a cured red stump that feels like jazz on a plate. You don’t just eat you vibe, connect, and discover.

You’re not just being served food, but you are being served whatever vibe the playlist decides. That is the magic of it. One week it might be upbeat tracks with dishes to match, the next something slower and moodier shaping the menu. Watching the chefs prep and serve right in front of you feels like foodie heaven, only with a killer soundtrack.

This made us wonder, if your own Spotify playlist set the menu for the night, what would land on the table? Would your morning gym mix turn into protein bowls and energy shots? Or would your Sunday chill playlist turn into comfort food?

At the end of the day, the customer is having more than just dinner, but music on a plate.
