10-year-old Mackenzie Knott has dedicated her third 13 Peaks Challenge to raising funds for orphaned rhinos!

Cape Town, South Africa (06 July 2023) — 10-year-old Mackenzie Knott is on a mission for orphaned rhinos. Tackling the 13 Peaks Challenge for the third time this year, the young trailblazer has dedicated her climbs to Rhino Connect.

For those who don’t know, the 13 Peaks Challenge is a big dedication for even the most experienced hikers. Mackenzie tackled the trails last year with the rhinos in mind, and this year she’s back at it again alongside her trusty companions—a plush rhino mascot named Hazel June and her dad.

Her goal is to raise R13,000 (approximately 130 six-packs of milk) as part of her ambassadorship for Fit 4 Rhinos. And, she’s already halfway to her goal, having raised R6,500!

Of her adventure, Mackenzie has completed 4 of the 6 days and 10 of the 13 peaks already. Her total journey is a whopping 110km, but for this young hero, every kilometre counts.

Fit 4 Rhinos shares their awe of Mackenzie’s mission and also her joyful spirit. The group, which is all about fitness with a rhino-prospering goal at the finish line, unites sports lovers from all over and encourages them to use their fitness for good.

Through them, swimmers, bikers, runners and young hikers all have the chance to secure milk for orphaned rhinos as well as other costs that rhino conservation groups like Rhino Connect face.

You can keep up with and support Mackenzie’s adventure here!
