Ultra Pet’s hilarious cat video, “The Cat One,” has taken the internet by storm, garnering over 2.1 million views and showcasing the brand’s commitment to affordable, premium pet food.

Johannesburg, South Africa (12 July 2023) – Brace yourself, cat lovers! Ultra Pet has done it again with their latest online sensation, “The Cat One.”

Following the massive success of their previous viral hit, “My Best Friend,” this South African pet brand has already amassed over 2.1 million views on TikTok and counting. If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re in for a treat!

Tara Pape, the brilliant mind behind Ultra Pet’s brand, shared her excitement about the video’s success.

“We’re thrilled to see the overwhelmingly positive response to ‘The Cat One,'” she said. “Our goal is to show pet owners that they don’t have to break the bank for premium pet food. Ultra Pet offers the optimal nutrition our furry friends need at affordable prices.”

But what makes this video so special? Tara explained that they wanted to capture the essence of our beloved feline friends and bring a smile to everyone’s face.

“We decided to use performance art to mimic the quirky behaviours that cats display on social media. It’s a way to celebrate their unique personalities while showcasing our brand.”

Now, you might wonder why cat videos have become such a phenomenon. Well, according to Bloomberg, a staggering 15% of all web traffic is driven by our feline friends. Since 2020, there have been over 50 million monthly Google searches for anything and everything “cat.”

It’s safe to say that cats have won the internet!

Tara revealed that they received countless requests for a cat version of their previous hit, “My Best Friend.” To delve deeper into the fascination with cats, they conducted a Google Trends Search over the past year. The results were fascinating! It turns out that South Africans are equally captivated by cats and dogs when it comes to online content. While searches for “cat video” on YouTube edged out “dog video” by a slim 5%, the nation as a whole enjoys a perfect balance between feline and canine content discovery.

“Intrigued by these findings, we decided to delve into the regional preferences of South African pet lovers. The results were astounding!”

In Gauteng, the battle between #TeamCat and #TeamDog is neck and neck, with cat enthusiasts edging out dog lovers by a mere 55% to 45%. The Eastern Cape and KZN follow suit, with a slightly higher preference for cats at 53% against 47% for dogs. Meanwhile, in the Western Cape, the scale tips just slightly in favour of our feline friends, with 51% of residents leaning toward #TeamCat. On the other hand, residents of the Northern Cape show a stronger affinity for dogs, with 51% favouring #TeamDog. Mpumalanga, North West, and Limpopo residents find themselves evenly divided, with 52% on #TeamDog and 48% rooting for #TeamCat. Interestingly, Free State residents are still undecided, with an equal 50% split between #TeamCat and #TeamDog. It seems they appreciate the charms of both sides!

Whether you’re #TeamCat or #TeamDog, Ultra Pet wants to provide you with the best nutrition for your furry companions without draining your wallet.
