The Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark SPCA have started sharing animal ‘Tinder Pages’ as a way to find loving homes for the animals living at the shelter.

Vereeniging, South Africa (02 October 2023) – In an effort to find homes for their beloved rescues, the Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark SPCA has started sharing ‘Tinder Pages’ for the animals awaiting adoption. The fun posts have already started getting loads of engagement.

Chase the “Border Collie Guy” (photos shared above) has by far been the most popular post so far however, there are several other profiles being shared on the Facebook page. Update: Since sharing this, Chase has been adopted!

“Chase is a handsome Border Collie guy. He loves water and playing ball and he would love to join a family. He is only a year old and can be found in kennel number at SPCA.

Please don’t swipe past Chase. Share him so he can go home or better still contact the SPCA hotline 016 422 1505 and make a date to meet him.”

We love it when organisations get creative to help get their animals seen. The concept of a Tinder page for animal adoptions always works well! Remember when Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Sudan teamed up with the famous dating app to raise awareness and funds for the last male Northern White Rhino?

There are hundreds of organisations hoping to rehome their rescues. If you are not near Vereeniging and Vanderbijlpark, you can check out our animal welfare charity list here to find an organisation near you.
