Furballs big and small, new whiskered friends and kittens just waiting to purr their way into hearts; the Catapalooza weekend is nearly upon Cape Town, and everyone looking to adopt a feline family member is invited.

Cape Town, South Africa (17 January 2025) — We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: adopting triumphs shopping every time when it comes to bringing an animal into your life, for those looking to become cat parents or those who simply want to give shelter kittens a few spoils, a wonderful weekend awaits, thanks to the Catapalooza.

Hosted by the TEARS Animal Rescue Cattery, the Catapalooza will be a first of its kind.

Kitten Shower

Saturday, kittens will take the spotlight as they enjoy a ‘Kitten Shower,’ and visitors will enjoy meeting a plethora of cuddly little furballs who will probably (very likely) win your heart over.

As with any good shower celebration, goodies and gifts are welcome. Think kitten toys, cosy beds, scratching posts, treats and, of course, crinkle balls.

Cattery Open Day

As for the Sunday stretch of the Catapalooza, this will mark the first Open Day of 2025 in which the entire cattery will be open.

All felines will be ready for ‘meet and greets’, and you might as well start cat-proofing your home now because the chances of you wanting to take a member of the meow club home are very high.

When: It’s all happening on 25 and 26 January
