Outeniqua SPAR may have opened a little late this Heritage Day, but the ladies showed up in colour, vibrance and style!

George, South Africa (26 September 2025) – There’s truly nothing like Heritage Day to reconnect us with our vibrant cultural roots. It’s a time when we come together to honour who we are, recognise the rich history that has shaped us, and wholeheartedly embrace our differences as the proud rainbow nation we are.

This week, people of all ages stepped out in their most stunning traditional attire, and the Outeniqua SPAR team wasn’t about to be left out of the fashion and fun – even if it meant the store doors swung open a little later than usual!

In a playful video posted by the store on TikTok, the presumed manager is seen apologising for being late because “the ladies were throwing a fit”.

Hopping onto the fun “throwing a fit” TikTok trend, the video soon switches to a clip showing the SPAR women donned in striking cultural patterns and bright colours, each owning their heritage with pride as they held their heads high and walked outside the store.

The ladies did not disappoint and arguably justified every minute of the delay in opening the store – LOL.

The video has garnered over 183k views with many social media users showing love to the mamas and aunties who came dressed to impress and delivered just that!

“Perrriiioooood Auntie in the front is eatiiiing,” commented @Leshegomoshikaro.

“Looking good, guys!! happy heritage day 🇿🇦🇿🇦,” shared @Julia Mari Slade.

“This is so cute!! Omg!!,” said @C A I.

Shout out to these beautiful ladies for their fun display of spirit and style, proving that sometimes, a fashionable celebration is worth the wait.
