In a heartfelt move to support the work Rainbows and Smiles does for children facing cancer, the Hot Cares team has committed a generous financial boost that will bring even more hope and joy.

Roodepoort, South Africa (28 September 2025) – Rainbows and Smiles is a charity that embodies its name, offering vibrant hope and joy to families bravely navigating the challenges of childhood cancer.

Since 2009, the charity has been dedicated to providing emotional, social and financial support to children diagnosed with cancer or a life-threatening illness, and their families and caregivers.

For many of the families they support, the struggle goes beyond treatment. Groceries run short and transport costs pile up. That is where Rainbows and Smiles helps with food parcels, travel support and even airtime so a child can hear a parent’s voice who can’t be at their bedside.

Recognising the invaluable work they do, Hot Cares has given Rainbows and Smiles the best boost, committing to R10,000 every month for the next 12 months to power the work they do so faithfully, as well as honour the brave warriors about to ring the bell (signifying the end of treatment), covering the gifts and catering to fill that day with joy.

“It’s not only what they do – it’s how they do it. Many on the team have lost a child or walked this road with a survivor. They understand the fear, the fatigue and the heartbreak. And still they show up – hands to hold, tears to wipe, hope to lift. Hot Cares is humbled to stand beside them,” Hot Cares said.

Filled with gratitude upon receiving this financial support, the Rainbows and Smiles team said:

“Thank you, Hot Cares and listeners for your beautiful hearts. You make our “purpose” possible.”

For an organisation that stands as a beacon of hope for so many brave little fighters, this generous support will help spread even more joy and ensure the rainbow reaches more children in need.
