As a man collapsed into a suspected seizure at a busy intersection, most cars continued to speed past – yet humanity shone through in a brave woman and a team of security guards who ran into traffic to help.
Boksburg, South Africa (19 January 2026) – When people refuse to turn a blind eye, truly amazing things can happen, and in the instance of Saturday morning, it helped save a life requiring urgent medical attention in the middle of peak morning traffic.
At the busy intersection of Rietfontein and North Rand Road in Boksburg, the city seemed to blink, and for a fleeting moment, compassion felt optional.
According to Legendary Guardians Exclusive Protection (LGEP), a pedestrian was crossing the road like any other morning when he suddenly collapsed. He fell head-first onto the tarmac, his body overtaken by what appeared to be an epileptic seizure.
While many cars sped past with indifference, one woman braved the busy street, running toward the emergency instead of away from it. Fortunately, an LGEP security vehicle was stationary at a nearby traffic light, where the crew had also witnessed the incident and moved quickly to assist.
“With traffic still passing and lives at risk, LG06 [the security vehicle] crossed the road and blocked traffic, turning flashing lights into a shield. A call went out on the East Rand groups, while the LGEP Control Room immediately dispatched GPG Ambulance. Moments later, ER24 confirmed they were en route as well.”
A tactical team also joined the scene, seamlessly, locking down traffic, creating space and safety.
The man was carefully placed into a recovery position, while at the same time, strangers became teammates, with one lady stopping and another car passing bottles of water hand to hand. There were no names, no cameras. Just humanity.
Emergency medical services soon arrived and took over, transporting the patient to the nearest state hospital.
As the security force puts it: “This is what teamwork looks like.”
Thanks to everyone who stopped to help, noticed a man’s distress and chose compassion; a life was saved in a very crucial moment.
