Schools from across South Africa bring unmatched energy and creativity as 5FM’s 2026 War Cry Champs winners are revealed.

 

Johannesburg, South Africa (17 April 2026) – After weeks of high-energy performances, creative routines and serious school pride, the winners of the 2026 #5FMWarCryChamps have officially been crowned. And the gees was on another level.

Announced live on 5FM’s 5 Breakfast, the competition once again proved why it’s become one of the biggest showcases of school spirit in South Africa. From drumlines to choreographed chants, schools across the country came through loud, proud and fully committed.

This year’s edition saw entries flooding in via the 5FM app, with learners, alumni and entire communities rallying behind their schools. The Top 10, Top 5 and Top 3 were revealed, building up to the final announcement.

And when it came down to it, a few schools stood out and claimed the ultimate bragging rights.

Girls’ Schools

Winner: St Stithians Girls’ College

2nd: Parktown High School for Girls

3rd: Jeppe Girls

Boys’ School

Winner: Parktown Boys High School

2nd: St Stithians Boys’ College

3rd: Christian Brothers’ College Boksburg

Co-ed Schools

Winner: Sacred Heart College

2nd: Trinityhouse Little Falls

3rd: Fourways High School
