Moeggesukkel is changing the lives of the addicts that come through their Pretoria programme, they also use their passion to assist the struggling community.
Moeggesukkel translated means ‘Tired of Struggling’, they are an organisation passionate about helping rehabilitate members of the public from gripping addiction. They also feed the community every second Sunday and run programmes to uplift everyone they meet.
The non-profit company was started by Jacques Papenfus who was an addict himself and knows of the struggles. He can sympathize with the people he helps and understands exactly what they need. The community is very grateful for his programme as it has changed so many lives.
“We house and take care of 45 individuals and we assist them in all of their needs. We also assist the individual to regain self-respect”
Every second Sunday the centre allows people to drop off cooked meals or raw ingredients which they then cook and distribute the meals to those in need.
“There are various challenges the needy face out there and a lot of work still lies ahead as we are contacted daily by concerned people, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends and so forth that need our help”
Currently the non-profit has a waiting list of over 100 people. They operate on a first come, first serve basis but plan to help each and every person in Pretoria.
“At Moeggesukkel we believe that no matter what challenges you face in life, you will NEVER be tested above your abilities.”
