If you missed the opening ceremony at Loftus when the Springboks faced Scotland, this is one performance you’ll definitely want to catch

Pretoria, South Africa (20 July 2026)- The rugby was always going to be special, but the atmosphere before kick-off at Loftus Versfeld was something else entirely.

The Springboks have shared the full opening ceremony from the clash against Scotland, and it’s a celebration of culture, music and rugby that fans won’t want to miss.

The performance opened with a heartfelt tribute to the visitors as JOCKS TS Pipes & Drums marched onto the field in traditional Scottish kilts, filling the stadium with the unmistakable sound of the bagpipes. The band  paid homage to Scotland’s rich heritage before the entertainment took on a proudly local twist.

That’s when the energy shifted.

As Brenda Fassie’s iconic Vulindlela rang out around Loftus, the Street Stylers took centre stage, bringing an explosion of colour, movement and South African flair. The crowd quickly joined in, singing and dancing along as the performance built from a touching tribute into a full-blown celebration.

Adding another layer to the spectacle, local artist Loufi stepped onto the field, blending his performance with the sound of the bagpipes before transitioning into Amapiano.

If you weren’t in the stands to experience it live, this is one performance worth watching from start to finish.
