Affectionately known as “The Fijian”, the talented winger has been selected for the Springbok Women’s A tour after making her mark at Jaguar Country.
South Africa (19 August 2026) – A journey that began in Jaguar Country is taking Lithalethu “The Fijian” Nombakuse all the way to Brazil.
The young winger is celebrating a major milestone after being selected for the Springbok Women’s A team that will travel to Brazil for two Test matches on 24 and 29 August.
Her selection has sparked plenty of excitement at Motherwell Rugby, where the club is celebrating one of its own reaching another level in her rugby journey.
Known affectionately as “The Fijian”, Nombakuse has built a reputation as one of the club’s speedy and hardworking wingers, with her latest call-up providing a reward for the commitment she has shown throughout her development.
Her selection represents more than just another name on a team sheet. It is a moment that highlights what can happen when young players are given an opportunity to develop their talent, stay disciplined and keep working towards their goals.
The club shared its pride in seeing Nombakuse progress from the fields of Jaguar Country to an international opportunity in Brazil, describing the selection as a dream becoming reality for the talented player.
