The organisation is seeking financial contributions, food, transport assistance and household donations as requests for help continue to grow.

South Africa (12 October 2026) – One Small Act of Kindness is appealing to the public for support as it faces a growing number of requests from families and individuals in need of food, shelter, transport and other essential assistance.

In an appeal shared by the organisation, it explained that donations have slowed down at a time when the demand for help is increasing, making it difficult to respond to every request.

One family urgently needs R3,500 in assistance. The organisation has not shared further details to protect the family’s safety, but is hoping to raise the funds needed to support them.

Another family needs food, while children at the organisation’s charity school also require food for the week. Two families are searching for shelter, but there are currently no suitable spaces available.

Finding accommodation for families can be particularly challenging, and the organisation emphasised the importance of keeping families together during already difficult circumstances.

There are also urgent transport needs. A mother requires R250 to get to hospital, while three men who have secured new jobs need assistance with transport costs to get to work this week.

You can find out more about the needs of the organisation from their Facebook page here.
