From cleaning up Cape Town’s beaches to sharing her bold ocean conservation ideas with world leaders, local champion Zoë Prinsloo is heading to the One Young World Summit!
Cape Town, South Africa (16 October 2026) – When it comes to advocating for a cleaner, healthier, and safer planet while rallying people to be part of the change, Zoë Prinsloo is right at the front of that line! She’s a coastal clean-up champ and the leader of Save a Fishie, an environmental movement that clears litter from Cape Town’s beaches while inspiring communities to do the same and make better choices for the planet.
Her mission is clear – and it’s now taking her to the One Young World Summit!
The One Young World Summit is a premier global gathering that brings together thousands of the brightest young changemakers, activists, and social entrepreneurs from over 190 countries.

The Summit unites this next generation of leaders with world-renowned political, business, and humanitarian figures to collaborate, share innovative solutions, and tackle pressing global issues like climate change, poverty, and human rights.
For the first time since the 2013 summit in Johannesburg, the event is returning to Africa in Cape Town, and Zoë can hardly believe she gets to join over 2,200 young leaders from around the globe for one shared mission: to spark change!
“As the founder of Save a Fishie, I am passionate about protecting our oceans, inspiring environmental action, and educating and empowering people to make a difference. I am so excited to connect with young leaders from across the globe, share ideas, learn from others, and explore how we can create an even bigger impact for our planet,” Zoë says.
She is looking forward to the conversations, the inspiration, the collaborations, and the possibility of turning great ideas into meaningful action.
We doubt there is a stretch of Cape Town coastline Zoë hasn’t touched, especially those beaches most in need of attention. Now, that tireless weekly dedication, passion for ocean conservation, and commitment to community service are taking centre stage on a global platform!
“Feeling incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited for what lies ahead,” says Zoë.
We congratulate and wish this local champion all the best as she prepares to share her bold ideas and insights with the world!
