These two one-year-old sweethearts have been through an unexpected change of address, and they’re hoping their next move will be into a forever home.

Pretoria, South Africa (19 October 2026) – Lola and Lucy may be small, but they have enough love to fill a room!

The two adorable Dachshund crosses were left behind at a property after their owner moved away for a new job. Sadly, he can no longer be contacted, leaving the girls in need of a fresh start.

Thankfully, the property owner stepped in and brought them to Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre. With five dogs of his own, he couldn’t take them in permanently, but he made sure these little ladies got the help they needed.

Now, Lola and Lucy are hoping someone will fall head over heels for them.

Lola is the darker of the pair, while Lucy sports a lovely light-brown coat. Both girls are big fans of attention, belly rubs and curling up on a willing lap. In fact, even their favourite treats struggle to compete with a good cuddle!

These affectionate little companions have so much love to give, and all they need is someone willing to give them a chance.

The good news is that they can be adopted together or separately. While it would be lovely for them to find a home as a duo, Wet Nose understands that adopting two dogs isn’t possible for everyone. The most important thing is that each girl finds a safe, loving home of her own.

If you have room in your home, on your lap and in your heart, contact 082 677 8086 to find out more about adopting either of these sweethearts.

Not in a position to adopt? You can still help by sharing their story with friends and family, giving it the best possible chance of reaching their future family.

You can also sponsor their kennel while they wait for their forever home. Email [email protected] for more information.

Two little dogs are waiting for their next chapter!
