Sifiso is sober; he’s reconnected with his family; he’s about to start a second business; and he’s made a fellow best friend in recovery. Together, they’re helping young people battling addiction in their community!

Johannesburg, South Africa (29 October 2026) – The Angel Network first met Sifiso two years ago. Then, he was battling a nyaope addiction after losing his job, and suffered greatly from a large cyst that had covered one of his eyes since birth.

The network is a local NPO that connects people who care with causes that need support. It helps children, families and communities through many practical acts of kindness. When Sifiso needed help, the ‘angels’ helped him.

Thanks to donor support, the organisation arranged for Sifiso’s cyst to be examined and removed through Sandton Radiology at Sandton Medi-Clinic. Then, he was booked into rehab where he made incredible progress over nine months, before his release.

It was onwards and upwards from there. Within the same year of receiving life-changing support, Sifiso was ready to start his own windscreen repair business, which the organisation helped him launch.

This week, The Angel Network shared another positive update about Sifiso.

“For the past year, he has been living in a sober-living facility and working to establish his windscreen repair business. Today, he is ready for the next chapter: living independently and starting his own food business, selling to his local community.” it writes.

Seeing the amazing progress he has made, the organisation has chosen to back him again by equipping him with the items he will need for his new business venture.

Beyond work, Siifso has also made great progress in reconnecting with his young children, aged 8, 9 and 18.

“Imagine what it must mean to those children to have their dad back in their lives. Imagine what it must mean to Sifiso to have the opportunity to be the father he wants to be.” the organisation adds.

He’s also made a best friend. Inoli is also recovering from addiction through the help of The Angel Network.

“The two have developed a beautiful friendship. They are joining the same gym, motivating each other and, incredibly, now counselling young people in their community who are battling addiction themselves.”

Two people who understand the struggle are now helping others believe that a different life is possible. All they needed was some backing, and each other.

“I wish everyone could see what we saw today when Sifiso walked through our doors. Because this is the part of our work that numbers cannot adequately measure. It is the moment when someone who once seemed to have so little hope begins to see possibilities again.” the organisation shares.

“This is why The Angel Network exists and what impact looks like. When we can give someone with no hope a brighter future, a future where he can give back to his community, be a loving, supportive and involved parent and contributing member of society. This is the true value of our work, believing in people, backing them and helping them to soar”

The network adds that it is incredibly proud of Sifiso and how hard he has worked to rebuild his life. It also thanks its supporters – the people who help create opportunities for people like Sifiso to change their own lives.

The Angle Network is now helping Sifiso to find accommodation close to Enoli so they can continue to motivate and inspire each other to move forward and do good things.

If you would like to show some support, consider using Sifiso’s windscreen repair business – the organisation says he has many happy clients and can travel for work opportunities. Or, if you’d like to help him launch his food business, the network is accepting donations towards the equipment and supplies he needs.

To support the organisation in its broader mission, supporters can sign up to Heroes with Halos. For less than 2 cappuccinos a month, you can help others reach their full potential.

“Sometimes, a second chance changes everything. We believe in people. We back them. And we help them soar.” the organisation ends.
