Phil Mickelson is one of the most decorated golfers in the sport, having played 100 Majors while winning five of them, yet he took advice from a young boy during the pro-am round of the Dell Technologies Championship last Thursday.
Mickelson is currently without a caddie after parting ways with long-time bag carrier Jim Mackay, and while his brother Tim is doing the job in the interim, his time may be cut short because of a young boy named Riley.
Mickelson was preparing to hit a 3-wood from the rough on the par 5 18th, when he suddenly decided to seek the advice from the youngster who was watching from beyond the ropes.
Riley’s answer was priceless.
Phil asked this youngster a question.
And got an honest answer. 😂@DellTechChamp pic.twitter.com/u4RamP2CLW

Well played, young man. And it would appear that Mickelson did go for it with a 3-wood and liked the result.
“Riley,” he addressed the boy, “you can caddie for me anytime.”
