The history of LEGO spans nearly 100 years but it’s actually never had a real footprint in Africa… until now!
The first official certified LEGO store is opening in South Africa this week, and this is all you need to know!
LEGO consists of colourful interlocking plastic bricks accompanying an array of gears, figurines called minifigures, and various other parts. The pieces can be assembled and connected in many ways, to construct objects; vehicles, buildings, and working robots. And anything constructed can then be taken apart again, and the pieces used to make other objects.
Many retailers have stocked the product in South Africa but now for this first time on the African continent… an official LEGO Certified Store is opening in Johannesburg.
Bu why is this a good thing?
Well for one, most of us are absolute LEGO addicts and more so, in a time when we are plagued with constant political and economical uncertainty… a well established global brand is choosing to move in!
Robert Greenstein, founder of the company bringing the LEGO brand to South Africa joined The Good Things Guy in studio to chat about all the good things we can look forward to in the new LEGO stores (plus all the other amazing details you need to know).
