The Google search engine has changed how we access information but did you know that there are numerous ways to search for some things? We have the list!

Everyone knows how to use Google but did you know there are a number of ways to look for exactly what you need in fewer clicks? We recently found a list of different way to search for information and fun things to do on the website. Take a look below.

Searching for flight information.

Have a family member or friend flying in for a visit? You can check their flight information by typing in the airline first and then the flight number into the search bar. Google will pull the relevant information for you.

Different ways to use keywords.

If you are looking for something but want to avoid other keywords from popping up, just type the minus sign before that keyword and Google will omit it from the search.

Or if you cannot remember a word from a quote or lyric, use an asterisk (*) in its place and Google will find it for you.

Search by file type.

Looking for a video, mp3 or pdf? Type your keywords in and end off with filetype: pdf/mp3 or whichever you need and Google will point you in the right direction.

Conversions and Calculations.

If you are trying to convert one thing into another, just type “unit converter” in your search bar. Google has a handy converter tool that can work out Temperature, Length, Mass, Speed, Volume, Area, Fuel consumption, Time and Digital storage.

You can also access an easy calculator that does basic mathematics but they also have a secret geometry calculator that can help figure out formulas or even find a formula you might need. Just type in “calculator” in the search bar or if you have a specific question, like “what is the volume of a cylinder with radius 4cm and height 8cm”.

Flip a coin

Need to make a decision but don’t have a coin? Google does… Just type in “Flip a Coin” or “Heads or Tails” and Google will flip a coin and tell you which it is.

Secret game hidden in Google Images.

If you are looking to waste a little time, Google has hidden a game in their images search engine. If you go to the Google Images search engine and type in “Atari Breakout” the game pops up.

We may have just spent 5 minutes playing the game instead of finishing this story. Oops!

We hope you found these helpful, let us know of any cool ones we missed.
