The 2022 season of MotoGP kicks off this weekend at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, and Brad Binder is getting excited about what the season has in store.

Global (04 March 2022) – The MotoGP is back this weekend for the 2022 season, and it is going to be an epic one! South Africa’s Brad Binder is excited to get started and make the year a successful one.

The season’s first race will be taking place on the 6th of March 2022 at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar. Brad Binder will once again be racing for KTM.

Brad Binder started his career by progressing through the KTM GP Academy structure. He competed in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, earned Moto3™ world championship success, as well as 15 Grand Prix, wins in both the Moto3 and Moto2™ categories with the Red Bull KTM Ajo squad, and then seized the factory’s maiden victory in the premier class during his debut term on the KTM RC16 during 2020, where he also achieved the status of ‘Rookie of the Year’.

Binder is now competing in his third season of the premier class and explains that he has faced incredible challenges in each division. In his first year, he faced and overcame the challenge of managing his expectations in the sport. While he grew frustrated at points, he took the lesson to his second season and while he sometimes wasn’t happy with where he was ranking, he managed his expectations better and was able to put on some heart-racing entertainment for local fans.

Racing in MotoGP this year, Brad now knows how to save his tyres better, and with that understanding, he knows how to go faster.

Brad Binder was ranked 11th in his first season and 6th in his second. This third season, he is preparing himself mentally and physically to take on the challenge – he is more ready than he has ever been and says his preparation for the season are the strongest they have ever been.

“I am happy with the way things ended at the end of last season, not with the results, but the way I was riding and we have got a bit of work to do but I am confident I can definitely improve my finish from last season” – Brad Binder

After having his debut into the premier class disrupted by the pandemic, Brad believes that 2022 is his opportunity to make his mark in MotoGP.

We cannot wait to see Brad’s third season unfold. If you want to support Brad through his next season, cheer him on via social media before and during the races. You can see all the racing events for the year here.
