More than 11 tons of dog and cat food – the equivalent of 63,717 meals – will be donated to 40 animal charities through Montego Pet Nutrition’s seventh annual Click2Feed campaign, launching on 3 December 2018.

Click2Feed is an annual campaign that aims to support and feed animals in need nationwide.

The mechanic is simple: South Africans are invited to visit the Click2Feed website and click on an animal charity of choice. Montego then provides each charity with a meal for every click – allowing South Africans to help needy animals from the comfort of their desks at work, couches, or mobile phones.

“Each year we see more and more animal shelters and charities receiving less support and donations, while having to take in and care for more animals each month – abandoned or in need of a home,” says Kelvin Westraat, Marketing Assistant Manager for Montego Pet Nutrition.

Aiming to tackle this and make the 2018 ‘howl-iday’ season even more festive, Montego rallied the support of 11 generous South African corporate sponsors to collectively raise R85 000 to give the equivalent in meals to charities in need.

“We’re extremely proud to continue with Click2Feed as one of our many initiatives aimed at caring for vulnerable animals,” says Westraat. “Having donated 23,225 meals in 2017, we managed to more than triple the amount for meals donated in 2018.”

The eleven sponsors who joined forces with Montego for the 2018 campaign include; Internet Solutions, Westpack Pet Zone, Cat Box Pet Hyper, Crazy Pets, Market IQ, Animal Kingdom, Quarto Press, Chaos Theory, Popimedia, The Neighbourhood Creative, and Tribeca Public Relations.

The 2018 Click2Feed campaign will run from 3 December 2018, and all South Africans are encouraged to participate by going to www.montego.co.za/click-to-feed-2018 to #Click2Feed.

Donations will be made to charities in January 2019.
