Through a heartfelt High Tea filled with community spirit, CMWSA raised vital support for its special needs water therapy initiatives to help more children access the care, confidence and joy they deserve.
Cape Town, South Africa (01 September 2026) – The Church on Main in Wynberg was recently adorned with a beautiful touch of purple as community members, table hosts and local businesses came together to raise vital funds and awareness for Special Needs Therapy.
Hosted by Colour My World South Africa (CMWSA) on Monday, 10 August, a highly successful High Tea brought the local community together for an afternoon of inspiring connection and to make a meaningful difference for children living with special needs.
CMWSA was founded in 2021 with a simple but powerful mission: to provide assistance and support for children with special needs. The charity’s journey began with its founder, Nazleen Carelse, whose son, Devin, experienced a life-changing incident at the age of four that led to seizures and epilepsy.
Through those challenges, Devin found comfort and joy in swimming. That discovery sparked a passion in Nazleen to help ensure that other children with special needs could experience the same benefits.
Today, Devin is a teen who loves swimming, and CMWSA is a registered Non-Profit Organisation dedicated to supporting children with special needs through water therapy, swimming lessons, educational resources and community inclusion activities.
What makes CMWSA’s work even more impactful is its collaboration with Friends & FUNctional Therapy. Together, they focus on enabling participation for children with disabilities. Rather than focusing on limitations, they patiently nurture each child’s abilities by creating inclusive opportunities to take part in expert-led, fun-filled and therapeutic activities that improve overall functional skills, capabilities and wellbeing.

Through the High Tea fundraiser, the CMWSA team raised vital funds and awareness for special needs therapy, with a special focus on life-changing water therapy initiatives.
“Seeing a room filled with a beautiful touch of purple was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we unite for a cause. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to the organisations, partners and hands that made this day possible: Friends & FUNctional Therapy and Rezaine Desai Photography. To our wonderful community, hosts and friends: thank you for stepping up to make a difference.”
